We recommend that students who will attend Sitecore Certified Developer training review the materials before attending training as preparation.  As attendees discover, we cover a lot of ground!  Reviewing the materials in advance will help you to understand the general concepts and prepare you to take advantage of the certified Sitecore instructor who will lead you through the process of understanding and developing with Sitecore.

How to Use the Materials

We recommend that you use the following procedure when using these materials.

1. Install the latest available release of Sitecore 5.3.1 on a local machine.
    
2. Open V5CD 1 - Training Materials Rev 2.0.x.pps. 
   NOTE: this file requires the PowerPoint Viewer, available in the zip file's Tools folder if you do not have Microsoft PowerPoint already installed.
    
3. Walk through the slide presentation and read each slide.  When you reach a slide indicating a Lab, refer to the corresponding lab chapter in V5CD 1 - Lab Notes Rev 2.0.x.pdf.
   NOTE: this file requires Adobe Acrobat Reader, available in the zip file's Tools folder.
    
4. Consult the Sitecore Developers Cookbook 1.x.x.pdf file for reference while completing the lab exercises.
    
5. The V5CD 1 - Training Materials Rev 2.0.x.pdf file provides a printable version of the training slides for use as reference as well.
